Casa Vicens hours

From November, Casa Vicens closes two hours earlier. It still opens every day, Mondays included, but a handful of closed days fall right in the middle of the winter season.

Casa Vicens runs two timetables a year. From March to October it opens 9:00 to 20:00, and from November to February 9:00 to 18:00. The change matters most for the last entry, which comes 1 hour 15 minutes before closing.

Below: the winter hours, the closed and early-closing days through to January, what Mondays and holidays look like, which slot to book and what happens if your plans move. For ticket types and prices, see our Casa Vicens tickets guide.

The quick answer

From 1 November to the end of February, Casa Vicens opens every day from 9:00 to 18:00, with last entry at 16:45. It closes early on 29 October 2026, is closed all day on 16 November 2026, closes early on 26 November 2026, and shuts on 25 December and from 7 to 14 January 2027. The ticket office opens at 9:30. Book a slot before 15:30 to see the garden and rooftop in daylight.

What are Casa Vicens opening hours in winter?

Every day from 9:00 to 18:00 between November and February. Last entry is at 16:45, and the ticket office opens at 9:30.

The house opens at 9:00 for visitors with tickets, while the ticket office opens half an hour later. No one enters in the last 1 hour 15 minutes, and visitors are asked to leave 15 minutes before closing. That leaves a 16:45 entry with exactly one hour inside, the short end of the 60 to 75 minutes the house suggests.

The summer timetable returns in March, with two extra hours in the evening. Casa Vicens also keeps the right to change hours for events, which is why the dates in the next section are worth a look before you pick a day.

When is Casa Vicens closed in 2026-27?

On 16 November 2026, on 25 December and from 7 to 14 January 2027. It also closes early on 29 October and 26 November 2026.

The 16 November closure falls on the museum's anniversary: Casa Vicens opened to the public on 16 November 2017. The January closure runs for a full week, inclusive of both dates, so a trip in the second week of January needs a different plan. The house also announces closures at short notice for weather. Rain closed it from the evening of 3 October to the afternoon of 4 October.

Is Casa Vicens open on Mondays and public holidays?

Yes on Mondays: it opens every day of the week. Over the holidays, its only scheduled closures are 25 December and the week from 7 to 14 January 2027.

Mondays are a real advantage in Barcelona. Palau Güell and Torre Bellesguard both close on Mondays, so Casa Vicens is an easy Gaudí visit for the start of the week. It is also the quieter choice among the houses: 263,743 visitors in 2025, far fewer than the big Passeig de Gràcia names.

Around Christmas, the other sites shift too. The Sagrada Família opens only 9:00 to 14:00 on 25 and 26 December and on 1 and 6 January, and La Pedrera closes on 25 December and from 11 to 17 January 2027. The full list is in our Gaudí sites in winter post.

What time should you visit Casa Vicens in winter?

Book a morning slot or an early-afternoon one, no later than about 15:30, so you have the full visit and the garden and rooftop in daylight.

The garden, the fountain porch and the rooftop are all outdoors, and the rooftop walkway between the tiled chimneys is a highlight of the visit. Winter days are short, and the sun sets around 17:30 in December. A morning entry also leaves time for the garden café, which only ticket holders can use.

Guided visits run in the morning or the afternoon, subject to availability, in groups of up to 12 on the official tour. Terri, on the guided tour, liked her timing: "house happened to be quiet the morning we went and the group was small so it was nice to see the rooms and be able to ask questions."

Can you combine Casa Vicens and Park Güell on a winter day?

Yes. Do Park Güell in the morning light, walk down to Lesseps in about 20 minutes, and enter Casa Vicens in the early afternoon.

Park Güell sells visitor slots from 9:30 to 19:30 all year, and once inside you can stay as long as you like. Its official site puts Lesseps (L3) about a 20-minute walk from the park, and Casa Vicens is about 300 m from Lesseps, so allow about 20 to 25 minutes, mostly downhill. Buses H6 and D40 also link the two.

The Park Güell guided tour handles the entry and adds a guide from the Barcelona Tourism Authority, from $28, and guests say they could stay in the park afterwards. The full plan is in our Park Güell and Casa Vicens guide.
